Andi, I hesitate a little on this just because it helps a lot to look at something. But if there really are 1/8" thick brick on your wall, go ahead and remove them. These were available some years ago as a decorative feature. Just be sure you don't have a brick wall with only the brick faces exposed. You should be able to just pry the faces off. You could try to take the whole thing down as a unit but it would be pretty haevy to move. In any case, you will probably end up putting on new drywall since you will probably tear up the old drywall pretty well when you try to take the bricks and mastic off it. This is not hard but it is messy. Have fun. :o)
