brick retaining wall

Posted by ray cavender on May 2nd, 1998 09:42 AM

I have a small wall on that runs from my house on the left side of the house and garage to almost the sidewalk. At one time, the wall was aligned with the outside wall of the house, no because of the poor drainage of rainwater, it (along with the ground behind it) is creeping towards the inside wall, any futher and i'll be backing out into it. It will be pretty simple to just take down the bricks (these are for landscaping so they're not permanant) and cut the ground back to make the wall straight again, but what are some good methods to drain the water away from the wall so this doesnt happen again. To give you a better visual, coming out of my garage if you look to your right, you'll see the wall, it's about 2 1/2 or 3 ' tall and the ground behind it is level with it.

I appreciate any help you can give
