Of the brands carried by Home Depot where I live, I like PenOfin and Preserv-A-Wood. I don't like Behr. My California climate is hot with intense sun in summer and rain in winter. I have used bot of those penetrating oil stain brands with 3 year durability on redwood decks and clear redwood siding. Your area stores may carry other products. The honest truth is that its hard to distinguish one from another because they are all variations of modified alkyd oils with micro-pigments to protect against UV. Variations include solids content, waxes, urethane additions, and oil source.
