As most brands use the same compressors and electrical parts; the greatest difference is the coils and shetmetal. The most important consideration is if you can trust your contractor to follow manufacturer's instructions and use best trade practices.
Purchasing the extended warranties for the unit will help ease your mind because then the manufacturers, contractors and suppliers are bound together under an insurer. There is no benefit to a manufacturer to use inadequate parts as these reflect on their long-term reputation.
Contractors with less than twenty years experience become caught up with their egos and still believe that bad-mouthing manufacturers that build the units that they are competing with will make their business better - not so. They still have to service whatever they meet up with and making the customer uncomfortable about one brand will also make the customer uncomfortable with other brands. They would do better to fix whatever, and say they prefer their particular brand because ... and leave it at that.
