Bowing windows from insulating foam

Posted by Gina on July 11th, 2004 09:04 PM

We are currently experiencing problems with the foam spray that we put around our windows. A sales person recommended a foam that said it had minimal expansion. We installed it a week and a half ago and there were no problems up until yesturday it is still expanding in certain areas. I have one window bowing and one where the foam came through the crack of the casing.

We thought we were doing the right thing, but I wish we hadn't now. What is the best thing to do now that this has happened? I want to remove it. We have not drywalled yet.

The salesman who sold the product is going to talk with his product rep and get back to me on monday. I don't think there is anything that can be said for me to feel comfortable to keep the product in since expansion has occured after a week and a half.

Thanks for any advice you can give!!!
