I bought a package of 2 Irwin blades, which they are honest enough to admit are made in China, a couple of months ago. They are the best blades that I've found, particularly for the money. Since they were a 2fer deal, the prices would have been about a tenth that of most Forrests, except Mongo's, of course.
There is an interesting bit about our labeling laws. For something to be labeled "Made in USA", it just has to have more than 50% of it's cost created in the USA. With the low cost of labor and materials in China and the relative high cost of labor, packaging, marketing, transportation and so on in the USA, it's pretty easy to make up that 51% in the USA. I think that you would be amazed at what actually is made in China, either the PRC or Taiwan, that has a "Made in USA" label on it. And, NO, I don't know everything that is either.
