I am installing bi-fold doors in a closet. The width of the frame is exactly 46 7/8" - I do not want to change the frame at all and I want to trim the edges of the doors to fit the existing frame. The doors I am getting are a style that will not show the trimming when done properly. My question is:
1) If the jam is 46 7/8" wide, what should be the total overall width of the doors when closed?
2) How much of a gap should be between the left and right jams and the edges of the door?
