best way to protect floating dance floor from high heals

I built a floating dance floor very much like a basketball floor except instead of a hardwood maple finish I used 4 X 8 sheets of masonite stained ebony and then with a natural oil finish. This floor has held up rather well for 10 years because we don't allow any shoes on it. Now, we'd like to teach Tango which requires high healed shoes. Is there some epoxy or gym coat that's strong enough to withstand high heals? YET FLEXABLE ENOUGH for a sprung or floating dance floor? Would a catalised dual component urathan (aka swedish oil finish) be flexable enough for a sprung floor or would iy crack? Is there any truth to what I'm told that 1) oil based urathans are stronger, but less flexable than water based?
2) that gloss has more urathan than satins and is hence stronger?
thanx in advance for your prompt response:
