In reply to Painting Laminate Kitchen Cabinets by Kevin on October 10th, 1998 02:01 AM [Go to top of thread]

I painted over my laminated kitchen cabinets about 3 years ago.
(And strangely enough, I did about what Henry suggested.)

The only things I regret are:
1) The plastic edging (sorry, I don't know the technical term)
around the doors didn't hold the paint. I suggest you replace
with the correct color.

2) The paint I used was "ok", and held just fine, but shows more
fingerprints than I'd like. My cousin used a great marine-based
paint that came from Denmark(?) or near there for his
his kitchen cabinets that is GREAT!!!! No marks, great even finish,
but requires careful application (and several coats).

Sorry, I don't remember the name, but a good paint store
may be able to find out for you.
