i am the one DIY person at home. my husband is worry about my new remodeling. I am extending 50"
span(old span) of doorway to 77"(one side only), and would like to put column at 50" position, and cut open from 50" to 77", and i will build support at 77" position by using 2 - 2"x4"x8', the column can support over 3000 lb(wood column), and my calculation for the load is about 6000 lb. what size of micro lam should i use to support the load? How much load of support will both end with 2- 2"x4"x8' have? thanks.
