Make sure that safety is part of your game plan. I've jacked & leveled a number of houses without problems, but one time I was jacking up a three story house from the basement and the cement slab cracked, sending the jack and support post flying. I mean flying! Luckily no one was hurt -- if anyone had been the way, they likely would have been killed.

Screw jacks are safer than hydraulic jacks.

Use more than one jack so that the load is distributed.

Set the jacks on thick steel plates or heavy beams.

Go slowly and add supports as needed. Don't be afraid to ask for help.

Good luck!
