I live in a very nice neighborhood. 3,000 to 4,000 sq.ft. homes. But buy a rusted piece of crap for the winter to drive in salt and snow. Sometimes there is more salt than snow on the road. Anyway, none of my neighbors mind at all. However, a friend of mine just moved because his old neighbor would leave a diesel truck (semi) run all day long next door to him. His walls would vibrate all day and sometimes at night. The point is, you have to determine for yourself how much things will bother you. I avoided buying a house that was perfect and in a nice country setting, because it was next to a high school and I didn't want to wake up every Saturday morning with a hang-over to the sound of trumpets and drums. To each his own!
