Bathtub reglazing

Posted by Tom C on March 29th, 2003 07:43 AM

I had a rose colored bathtub. When I remodled, I tried refinishing the tub myself using a two part epoxy paint. I prepared the surface as per instruction. Now, two years later the white finish is turning yellow and patchy. the finish is orange peeling in one spot.
I want to have a professional come in and reglaze the tub. Is this a good idea? Can I expect "like new" results? Would I be better off taking a sledge hammer to it and replace it? I used ceramic tile for the tub surround and would have to replace all the tile. I am not sure what to do. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.....
