Hi, Kathy. Congrats on getting that far along with no major problems. Obviously, you know, or have learned, something about remodeling by now. I think that you should at least investigate tearing out out all the wall's plaster or drywall and putting in new drywall. Drywall, tape,screws and mud are cheap. Except for initial installation of the drywall, it is an easy one person job. I think that you will never be happy with the joint area between the top and bottom parts of the wall. And lastly, doing it right is easier than doing it over.
