I have basement windows in half-round window wells. I am using clear plastic window well covers to keep the rain out and let the light in. They are the Home Depot style that are kind of thin and not meant to be permanent.
I noticed that the humidity is high inside the window well, even though there is a small air space between the house and the edge of the well cover. I am worried that this will damage the wood frame basement windows.
Is it better to (1) keep the window well covers on and keep out the rain/snow, or (2)take of the well covers and allow the space to breath? Thanks, Kerrie
