I'm interested in replacing the old windows in my basement with new vinyl sliders. The current windows look to be held in with mortar on my poured foundation. I'm confident that they will come out relatively easily. The opening measures 32.5 inches by 17.5.
My question is this- Since a standard size is 32x17, can I use concrete anchors to screw the window directly to the opening? I'd like to avoid ordering custom windows (I'd need them if I framed the opening with 2x3's) Also-How should I insulate the window's gaps?
I haven't been able to find any info in the standard home improvement sites,so I'm really hoping you have a suggestion.
