basement waterproofing

Posted by Pat on September 25th, 2000 08:14 AM

Trying to find out the best way to educate myself on basement waterproofing. I have a 50 year old home that has had previous owners attempt to touch-up water infiltration. The damage is not heavy yet but will probably worsen if not stopped.

I have had several people out to give quotations on repair. None seem consistent, they all seem reasonable, but which is best? Tear up the concrete along the basement wall and put in a pump, Tear up the dirt along the outside wall and put in a new drain system?

There probably other ideas, but where is an objective place to get options based on the condition of the basement?
