basement walls

My husband and I bought a 1950 rancher about two years ago. We recently refinished the basement, which has a cinder block foundation. A few years ago, the previous owners had Drylock sprayed. We also have a french drain surrounding the inside walls of our basement, which leads to the sump pump. Before we framed the walls out, we put a vapor barrier up between the cinder blocks and the 2x4's. We have not experienced any problems so far, but I was recently told that all cinder blocks will eventually buckle and fall down destroying the foundation and allowing water to enter. Is this true?

Thank you,
Amy Barrett
