Basement walls

I am questioning the use of fiberglass roll insulation on basement walls. I had watched a home repair show that stated you not use roll insulation because moisture can affect it, instead use foam board to create a better vapor barrier. I have the same problem in an earth contact house. Poured concrete wall that had NO vapor barrier. I concluded that I should use the foam board after painting with a sealer. I have a humidity problem >65% year-round. Figured the foam board between the studs, filled with spray foam to seal would cut the humidity. Even though the foam has a much lower r-value than batting, I didn't think it was the big issue since the concrete wall should be insulation enough.
