My husband and I just moved into our brand new home. We have a 1500 sq. ft. basement (unfinished). We have noticed that there is constantly water trickling into the sump pump. We have not had any problems with water in the basement so far but do not understand why the water NEVER stops trickling - even after there has been absolutely no rain for several days. Is this normal?
Also, can you recommend a back-up system for sump pumps. We had an inspector suggest that we get a backup system that somehow works with the city water - do you have any idea what he is talking about?
