Basement refinishing - to visquine or not

I live in Michigan and am considering re-finishing my poured concrete basement. Does anyone know the "best" way to construct the exterior walls? I always thought that one used a 6 mil poly against the concrete followed by 2x4 framing and insulation between the studs. I recently read that I will need an additional vapor barrier facing the "warm" part of the basement to avoid condensation problems, but it seems that there is potential for moisture to get trapped between these two layers and cause rot. Any suggestions?
