My mother's home has a small corner basement area which is a constant source of mold and dampness. She is elderly and has to go down into the basement from an outside entrance almost every day to deal with the water. She has a sump pump down there but nothing seems to help and you can smell a "musty" smell in her house all the time.
Is there anyway to deal with the moisture problem in the basement more effectively than the sump pump?
She lives in an area of Texas where it is extremely humid most of the time and the house should have never included a basement.
