Gee, Jay, didn't mean to hurt your feelings. I have one basement window that leaks when we have a good hard overnight rain, usually in the spring. Since this only happens about once a year and the only way to fix it is to seal the window shut with silicon, the cure is worse than the disease.

So I get a little water but it is in an area where I have a tile floor over the concrete and the walls there aren't finished. No big deal and I would not be concerned about putting the indoor/outdoor carpet down there. There is a heck of a lot of difference between a quart of water once a year and 2" in your basement. The legs to my workbench haven't rotted off yet either. LOL What the heck is a fontoon? Sounds like the reverse of a spitoon.
