Basement floor cracks

From my experience basement floors are very thin concrete since they don't have to support any weight. When I broke the floor in one of my basements to put in the sewer for a bathroom the concrete was less than an inch in some pleaces and more than three inches in others. The only "fix" that I can think of would be to pour the cement floor similar to pouring a cement driverway, with re-rod, wire mesh or some other similar material.

Best of luck.
