basement floor

Posted by B. Beau on December 6th, 2001 04:38 AM

I have a basement bathroom with yucky old vinyl glued to the cement. I want to remove all the old vinyl & glue to get to the cement and then use a self-leveling cement (might not be the right name for it) and put in a quarry tile floor.
What is the best way to get all that old vinyl glue etc off the floor? Is there a safe chemical process, a tool/machine or do I have to continue using the metal putty knife in my spare moments?
Any easier suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You
