Hey Will,

Depending on your project. You are probably going to need access to pipes, wiring, etc.. A suspended ceiling will offer access to these systems. If your not concerned or this type of access is not needed any ceiling of choice would work, depending on the look you desire. Just be sure to think long and hard otherwise you might be cutting in holes in case you need to get to something.
A trayed celing has the main celing at a higher level. Then a perimeter soffit is stepped down from the main ceiling. You can create some neat lighting effects with this type of ceiling.
