We own a 120-year old home with a stone foundation on town water and sewage
[The basement is a crawl space-large enough for furnace and hot water tank].
It seems that every time it rains our basement is wet!
[Hole in floor with metal bucket with holes in bottom]
Could this have been used for a ‘sump pump’ at one time?
Could I cover this up with cement…should I?
We just don’t want a wet basement when it rains anymore. As we want to make use of the space for storage.
Any and all suggestions gratefully accepted
