Thanks for your advice BC. After I seal the cinder blocks (using thoroseal), I will make sure I position the 2x4 studs about a 1/2" out from the wall. I will also use treated lumber for the base plate and use construction adhesive between the concrete floor and the plate. My entire basement floor has hard vinyl tiles glued to it. I plan to leave them on and put the padding and carpet on top of them. I do not get any water from the concrete floor. I dont plan on using tackless for the carpet (just in case I have to lift it up). Should I "S" glue the padding to the tiles and what is "S" gluing...Thanks, Kirk
