'Cause sooner or later, you are going to change carpet and have another installer. How much mess is it going to be when you have to pull the moldings, sand the paint ridge, reinstall the base shoe and repaint. You make it a little easier for this installer and cause yourself a lot more problems down the line. Or you could just move when the carpet gets dirty. It's a whole lot easier than pulling up the old carpet, pad and staples. LOL.
