The previous owner had wallpaper on the walls and tried stripping it. He got halfway and it must have been too difficult so he tried joint compound to no avail. So then decided to just paint over everything, unsanded joint compound, glue etc.. with semi-gloss paint. I thought the fastest way out is to re-wallpaper over the walls. Someone told me about an underlayment that is put up like wall paper and will hide imperfections in the wall and be a good base for new wallpaper. Has anyone ever tried this and what were the results? Thanks.
