Judy, this normally isn't necessary because the bugs need water to live and dry wood will not be to their liking. If you want to be sure, take the boards to a drying kiln. A day or so at 130 degrees will make it a sure thing that they are gone. No chemical now available will get to the inside of the wood or be long lasting enough to kill them if they are hiding for the winter.
