Banging steam radiator

I sleep late. I don't see much of the morning except til 2 AM.

The end of the radiator where the vent is might need a small amount of gentle lifting (by a block of wood and a pry bar), perhaps 1/4", just enough to make sure the water falls back down the single pipe. Be careful, this may break the pipe connection.

The steam pressure might be too high at the boiler also. It is best to let a trained heating plumber do this work.
