Attic remodel

Posted by Dan Riefstahl on December 23rd, 2002 01:34 PM

I am remodeling my attic and I had originally planned to run baffles all the way from the soffit to the peak. I planned to leave a small cavity that ran from gable to gable and install gable vents to allow a nice flow of air from the soffits out throught the gable vents. My house has no attic venting. It was built in 1922 and has a slate roof. From the best of my knowledege, it appears the the roof vents through the small spaces between each piece of slate. IS what i am doing going to be sufficent? Should i poke holes in the baffles? I read in another thread that you suggested that. What about vapor barriers? Do i out a vapor barrier between the isulation and drywall in this situation?
