Here's what I know....You my be at the start of the water line on the main, so the perssure needs to be high so thats theres enough pressure at the end of the line miles of the biggest problems around here is that with new subs being built all over other there is a bigger need for more water further down the road....Fixtuers in the house are only designed for lower pressures, it's a good thing that you don't get water hammer or you would be in big trouble, the only other thing that you may see down the road is that as pipes age the high pressure may make the pipes start leaking...If it were my house I would get the valve...just think of it this way at least you have enough pressure.
