You should rough up between coats for better adherson. Steel wool will work or extra fine paper.

I don't guess that youve considered water based poly? Drying time is about 2 hours or less, no smell, no yellowing, not as much dust problems.

Anyway, your main enemy will be dust. Dust ruins poly, both water and oil floors, control that dust.

Time for oil to accept furniture. Depends on how thick you apply each coat of poly. Since your using three coats, be sure and not over apply each coat. More coats and less poly is the best way to go.

Some people slock on the poly oil poly that is and the inner stuff never dries and when a furniture leg is set on it the underneath coat will break loose.
