We had a new asphalt driveway installed in October 99. The driveway has developed many cracks. The two largest are between 13 and 19 feet long, approximately .5 to 1.5 inches deep and nearly 1/2 inch wide. We also have a couple of approximately 12" depressions with ragged edges where a pick up truck was parked this summer. The pick up was parked for about two hours on an 80 degree day in early August of this year. Last winter was comparatively mild and this summer has been cool and wet. The contractor tells us these cracks and the depressions are normal wear after less than one year. Contractor has finally agreed to come out and look at the depressions and maybe fill them. Is this normal for a new driveway? Many Thanks.
