I've read all asbestos posts but cannot find my problem. I have acoustic 12"sq. ceiling tiles that I may have removed (probably asbestos circa 1951 but not yet tested). They are up with four dark brown mastic glue-dots each over beautiful tongue and groove wood. This is covered with drywall and all drops ceiling a couple of inches. I want to remove it all to expose the T&G. This mastic is nearly impossible to remove. The abatement guy is suggesting sandblasting which I do not want to do inside. Any suggestions for this mastic removal are appreciated.
