Hi Phil, What Joe as said is spot on, ( he is a pro) and I
know this from what he as said to you, little things, like
putting tape on the bottom of the cutting tool, so it wont
damage the surface of the formica, and the depth of the
blade, ( you can use a jig saw, but you will have to find
blades that are very fine and have the teeth pointing down and
not up as the standard type do,) you can buy them from your
hardware store.
one more point, to finish off the sides of the formica, use a
fine flat file, and file along and down at the same time, this
will give a better edge to work with when you glue it.

When I have to put a hole ( round/square ) in formica I drill
in the corners but come back just a little from the line I have
to work to,( you can file off what you dont need.)

anyway you dont any info from me, Joe has said it all. :o))
John 2000...........
PS: when you move that stripe with the hole in it, get some one to
help you, if it breaks, all the work would have been for nothing...
