I was somewhat excited and optimistic about ralph lauren faux finishes when I saw the wonderful pictures posted at home depot by Ralph Lauren INC.
After reading this page I am beginning to wonder. I was told by a home depot rep. that crackle paint will not flake or chip off, and also that the size of crackle can not be controlled, that it is random. Yet I have seen large cracks and small cracks in the display.
In addition to using the crackle technique, I was going to decorate opposite walls with antiqued leather. Using the same colours I thought this may add a new dimension to my suite. I have heard many horror stories, but are there any more success stories?
Any comments on Ralph Lauren paints (faux finishes) is greatly welcomed (please e-mail).
I have more than enough time on my hands to dedicate to applying these techniques, however if there are consistently problems regarding ralph lauren paint I will steer clear and see if I can try something less expensive.
