another fence question

Posted by Cyndi on March 12th, 2003 04:09 PM

I heard that they way you tell which fences are on your property and which are on your neighbors (other than from plot maps) are how the fence faces. I was told that if the "out side" of the fence faces you, it's your neighbors and if it's yours, the "inside" of the fence faces you. Is this accurate? I'm trying to deal with replacing my back yard fence which is now 3 different kinds of fence (chain link, picket, and a different kind of wood type). I'd love to have this look uniform even if it means losing a few feet of my yard. Thanks!
