Another Basement Flooring Question

Posted by Jan on January 29th, 2001 10:02 PM

I would like some advice about flooring for my basement (500 sq ft). I have ripped out two layers of vinyl tiles leaving a black mastic adhesive behind. The floor is concrete, and I do not want carpet because this will be a workroom. Although I have taken care of leaks/moisture from the walls, there is always the potential for water/moisture and there is a floor drain. So, what can I put down? I would like something more interesting than the Armstrong 82cent vinyl tile. Is there a commercial tile, or rubber flooring(I worry about smell), or an interlocking floor that anyone can recommend? I worry about bleed through from the old mastic. Your experience would be appreciated.
