I am working on a pair of shoes . The soles are padouk which I
love for its brilliant orange color. Because these must be worn in a city
with lots of wet weather, I need to find a sealant. But I don't want to use
polyurethane and darken the bright color. I know that padouk darkens
with time but I would like to preserve as much of the color as possible.
Analine dyes have been suggested to me. Is this a dye-sealant or will I
have to use a sealant over the analine dye. Will this dye change the color
of the wood or will it just enhance the natural color and seal it? Do you
carry this product or know of where I might find it? Also, would a UV-inhibitor be helpful?
