Alternative to a Driveway Channel Grate

Posted by David Masher on March 28th, 2003 04:38 PM

Hi All, my driveway slopes towards my garage. I had installed a "PVC" channel grate between the driveway and the entrance to the garage to catch the water running down the driveway. About every 4 years I need to replace the whole thing. For some reason it won't stay put (cement just crumbles and frost heaves it above grade and yes I believe I installed it correctly). Soooo I'm asking for creative ideas to fill the hole where the grate was (24 feet x 8 inches, the depth is 6 inches) but still perform the task of rain water management. Im up for anything, rocks, pipes, dare is say "French" drain or whatever... Any takers???

Thanks

David
