You may consider a central exhast fan w/ some allowance for make-up or fresh air intake. Although an air-to-air exchanger recovers a percntage of the heat of the exhausted air, the cost savings in many cases does not justify the added expense. You miht check with your local utility company, as they may have stats in the cost effectiveness in you area. I checked with mine (Cold northern Wisconsin) as was told that in houses that had a central exhaust fan installed, the added fuel cost was about $5.00 per month.
