Ref: "Power Tools", by Handyman Club Of America

for moderate use as you describe they recommend:

1 -2 hp oil-less compressor with twin 2 -5 gallon tanks or single 10 -12 gallon tank or single 3 -5 gallon "pancake" tank.

They descibe oil-lubricated compressors as running quieter and cool however requiring periodic changing of oil.

Oil-less compressors are described as low maintenance however are louder.

They advise not to buy iron tanks because they rust internally and you cannot access the tanks condition.

No mention on teflon coatings however.
