Other than buying plans, the only idea I have is for you to make an Adirondack Rocking Chair. I've never made one but they are a nice chair that has some neat history.

Anyways, if you use any WEB Search Engine and key in words like 'rocking chair' and 'adirondack' and 'plans" (or the like), and press Search/Find, you'll a lot of hits that sell plans for rocking chairs. But, as an aside, are you to actually make one 'from scratch' without the use of plans? If you are, I can't help you. BUT, if you aren't, here is a popular WEB plan for Adirondack Rocking Chair. Perhaps other can give you the tips and ideas you're looking for.

My best to ya and hope this helps.

Jay J

PS: The Yankee Workshop has a book that has about 10 plans in it, one of which is this chair (I believe but check it out). I hear it's one of the 'simpler' sets of plans.
