I have a 100 year old farm house placed on a nicely build concrete block basement in the 1930s. An addition was added in the '80s without a basement.

It is not feasable jack up the house.

Could the new basement be dug 2 to 3 feet inside the existing addition foundation? This would avoid jacking the house and changing the existing foundation.
