the earthquake insurance has a 10% deductable, as
in "they won't pay anything unless the damage exceeds
$40,000 (10% of the value of the house)".

At least that's how the contract reads.

I'll know for sure when the agent calls me back
on Monday, but others I know who have already
contacted their ins. companies have gotten the
shaft :-(
