This is NOT a no brainer project. It has a dificulty level of 8 on a scale of 1-10.

Is this a bran new home that is only roughed out? Or is this an existing home that is being lived in?

The reason I am asking is, if the home is under construction, you can do this relatively easily, but if it is an existing home, you have some very serious issues to consider.

is there electrical wiring in the area? Do I really want to tear out the wall and rebuild it to accomodate the sliding door inside the existing wall? Can I tolerate a slightly wider wall in that area? Do I want to deal with the dis advantages of a pocket door?

Come back with some new information and others will jump on this also.
