acidic well water

Posted by michelle on January 27th, 2003 02:21 PM

i have recently discovered that i have acidic well water. i have had three different estimates of how to solve my problem. first a polyphosphate filter was suggested to protect my pipes while not changing the acidity of the water. another company suggested an upflow neutralizer, and finally the last opinion suggested a backflow neutralizer. i had read somewhere that backflow neutralizers are less problematic and work better then upflow models. i had also read that a backflow neutralizer would filter out sediment whereas an upflow model would not. i would appeciate any additional opinions on which filter is best.
